Summer heat

A lot has happened since my last post. The musher went to Liberia for a month to aid in the Ebola outbreak and Cobey held down the homestead. He was amazing taking care of the boys and dogs (& chicken & cats).

Upon my return it had become too hot to run dogs. Spring had passed by quickly and we were fast approaching an extremely hot summer.

We sadly lost another dog, Kona. She was the matriarch of our kennel. She never mothered any litters but she was our foundation. We haven't been able to write a long post about her yet. Maybe someday in the future we will write a long post in her honor but right now I think we still haven't let it sink in (even 2 months down the road). Like our 3 year old said "Kona's in heaven, she's getting a bandaid"...as if she will be returning to us soon. We miss you Kona.

Right now were all just trying to wait out this heat and stay cool until the fall when we can start again!

Here's a few pictures:
